Oswego Health announced that MEREDITH POTTER, a family nurse practitioner, has joined its Primecare Medical Practice in Central Square. Potter will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages. She will treat upper respiratory issues, sick visits, injuries, infections, rashes and sprains or strains, as well as routine screenings and the related follow-up care and women’s health services. Potter recently earned her master of science in nursing/nurse practitioner degree from SUNY Polytechnic Institute of Technology in Utica. She previously obtained her bachelor of science in nursing at SUNY Plattsburgh and her associate degree in nursing at SUNY Jefferson. While studying for her bachelor’s and combined master and nurse practitioner degrees, she worked as a full-time emergency department nurse at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. Potter also worked on a per-diem basis in Oswego Hospital’s emergency department. Potter holds certification as a coronary care provider, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and as a trauma nurse. The Primecare Medical Practice is located in the lower level of the Central Square Medical Center at 3045 East Avenue in the village of Central Square.

JENNIFER FIELDS, a nurse practitioner, has joined the staff of Rome Memorial Hospital’s Regional Center for Wound Care, located at 267 Hill Road in Rome. A graduate of St. Elizabeth’s College of Nursing, Fields earned both her bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in family health administration from SUNY Institute of Technology in Marcy (now called SUNY Polytechnic Institute). In her more than 12 years in the health-care field, Fields has served in many capacities, including providing care to military service personnel, as a charge nurse for Rome Memorial Hospital’s Critical Care Unit, and her most recent work as a family nurse practitioner in gynecology.
