SYRACUSE — Delta Air Lines will launch direct service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in September.
The service will start Sept. 6 with one flight per day. Delta added service to LaGuardia Airport in New York City in March.
“There are three or four key markets that we have been aggressively pursuing and Minneapolis-St. Paul is one of them,” Aviation Commissioner Christina Reale said in a news release. “Both the business and leisure traveler will now have direct service to a key airport in the Midwest and access to many of Delta’s domestic and international markets.”
Minneapolis-St. Paul is Delta’s Midwest hub and the fifth hub the airline will service from Syracuse, according to the city. Flights to Minneapolis will be aboard regional jets with a total of 76 seats available per day.
