Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC has promoted six employees. In the auditing and accounting department.

ALYSSA HANSEN has been promoted to audit & accounting senior associate. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA, with an accounting concentration, from Alfred University. Hansen is working to complete the certification process to earn her designation as a CPA.

NICK MARINELLI has also been promoted to audit & accounting senior associate. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Oswego and is working to complete the certification process to earn his designation as a CPA.

In the tax department, BRITTANY BECKER and KATIE RIVERS have been appointed senior associates. Becker received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Potsdam and an MBA in professional accountancy from Utica College. She holds a CPA designation. Rivers is a CPA and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in accounting from Siena College.

GREG SMITH and AMIE VANDERPOOL have been named tax senior managers. Smith, a CPA, graduated from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor’s degree and an MBA. He is treasurer of the New York Family Business Center at the Madden School of Business at Le Moyne College. Smith is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and leads the Custom Accounting Solutions (CAS) department at the firm. Vanderpool, a CPA, graduated from Le Moyne College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is chair of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession Program.
