Dollar General to formally open new Geddes store Saturday

GEDDES, N.Y. — Dollar General will celebrate the formal opening of its new 9,000-square-foot store at 922 State Fair Blvd. in Geddes on Saturday at 8 a.m. with free prizes and special deals. 

“We hope our Geddes customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location,” Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, said in a news release.

Dollar General stores typically employ about six to 10 people, depending on the need, the release stated.

Dollar General (NYSE: DG) has more than 11,300 stores in 40 states. That includes 10 stores in Onondaga County.

The retailer generated $17.5 billion in revenue and just over $1 billion in net income in the 12 months ending Jan. 31, 2014.
