SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Downtown Committee of Syracuse says it has a winner in the contest to create a new Downtown Syracuse gateway sign.
The sign in the accompanying photo will greet people entering downtown from the West Genesee Street off-ramp from I-690.
It was selected by the public in a vote that considered two design ideas.

“We look forward to joining community partners to install the sign later this spring,” the Downtown Committee said in an email newsletter on Monday.
Digital Hyve provided the design concepts, Elevator Interiors fabricated the winning design, and Syracuse’s Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods Today (TNT) supported the initiative with a grant to landscape the area in May 2021, according to the Downtown Committee.
