SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Two dozen vendors are expected to participate on Tuesday as the Downtown Farmers Market returns to Clinton Square for its 51st season.

Farmers will begin setting up at 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning and the market begins operations at 8 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m.

Besides the vendors, patrons visiting on Tuesday can also enjoy live music during lunchtime performed by Tom Gilbo, a local Elvis impersonator.

The market is available every Tuesday through Oct. 10, “rain or shine,” per the Downtown Committee of Syracuse Inc.’s Monday announcement.

The Downtown Committee also notes that the parking lot for One Lincoln Center will host the Farmers Market for one week only on June 20. In addition, the market will not be available on July 4, which this year falls on a Tuesday.

The Downtown Committee describes the Downtown Farmers Market as “the place to find fresh, locally produced fruit, meat, cheese, vegetables, plants, crafts and specialty items.”

Vendors will offer new products every week as the growing season continues, the Downtown Committee said.

In addition, live music will continue (weather permitting) each Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as part of the “Lunchtime Live! Music Series.” The series is presented by SUNY Oswego and made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program.

It’s a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

The funding is administered by CNY Arts and the Tier Three Project Support program, a regrant program of Onondaga County with the support of Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon.

Besides the Downtown Committee of Syracuse Inc., the Downtown Farmers Market is also presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
