Rochester–based Doyle Security Systems, Inc., which has an office in Syracuse, has announced the acquisition of STAT Communications, a privately held company that was founded in Watertown in the 1950s.

Doyle Security Systems describes itself as the largest family-owned New York state provider of residential and commercial security, fire, and medical-monitoring systems.

The firm didn’t disclose any financial terms of its acquisition agreement, which was completed Oct. 4.

Under the deal, Doyle Security’s emergency response center will monitor STAT’s 3,800 security accounts and 1,200 medical-monitoring accounts. STAT employees, who will be joining Doyle, will continue to provide service and installation work.

Besides the acquired accounts, Doyle Security will also be retaining STAT Communications’ Watertown office and 22 employees, including current CEO Bruce Morgia and VP Travis Morgia.

Watertown will become the ninth Doyle branch, joining Buffalo, Olean, Syracuse, Albany, Fishkill, and Catskill in New York. Doyle also has an office in Erie, Pennsylvania.

“STAT Communications is a highly successful family business managed by the Morgia and Dawley families for more than 50 years,” John Doyle, Jr. president and CEO of Doyle Security, said in a statement. “We are very fortunate to have Bruce Morgia and his team joining forces with us. Together, we will be able to provide even better security to more homes and businesses in Central and Northern New York and beyond.”

Family owned and operated since 1919, Doyle Security Systems services more than 40,000 residential and commercial customers across New York and Pennsylvania, per its release.
