SYRACUSE, N.Y. — An eighth individual has died from COVID-19 in Onondaga County, the county’s Health Department reported Friday.
The person was a white man in his late 60s, who had underlying health conditions and had been hospitalized, the department said. As with all COVID-19 deaths, the department will not be releasing additional information for medical-privacy reasons.
Seven of the county’s eight deaths from the dangerous virus have occurred in the last nine days, including one death on Thursday.
All of the county’s deaths have been people over the age of 60 who had pre-existing medical problems and had been hospitalized.
