Elton John will perform at the Carrier Dome in September 2022

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Legendary recording artist Elton John says Syracuse will be part of his final concert tour in late summer 2022.

Elton John says he’ll perform at the Carrier Dome on Sept. 10, 2022. The concert is part of his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour.” 

For the U.S., Canada, and U.K. dates, American Express card members can purchase tickets before the general public, per the news release detailing the tour dates. For those in the U.S. and Canada, the American Express presale started Wednesday at 12 p.m. and continues through next Tuesday at 10 p.m.

Public on-sales begin June 29 in Europe and June 30 in North America at website www.ticketmaster.com.

The performer on Wednesday announced tour dates in both the U.S. and Europe. In that same tweet, Elton John had a message for Twitter users:

“Hello, all you wonderful fans out there. I’m coming to you today with an announcement I’ve been working towards for, well, all my life: the shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career. Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time. This has been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows. To all my friends down under, We’ll be seeing you too. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in your town.”

Elton is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 1 diamond, 38 platinum or multi-platinum, and 26 gold albums, over 50 Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 300 million records worldwide. He holds the record for the biggest-selling single of all time, “Candle in the Wind 1997,” which sold over 33 million copies, per the news release.
