Embracing Age to manage senior club in Baldwinsville

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. — The nonprofit Embracing Age has announced a new management and marketing agreement with Silver Fox Senior Social Club in Baldwinsville.

DeWitt–based Embracing Age, an affiliate of St. Joseph’s Health and Franciscan Companies, says it works to enable older people to remain living independently at home. Franciscan Companies is a member of St. Joseph’s Health and a part of Livonia, Michigan–based Trinity Health.

“Silver Fox addresses a very important need in our community … the need for a stimulating and safe place for seniors to go to during the day, while their caregivers are working,” Susan Clancy-Magley, executive director of Embracing Age, said in a news release issued Monday by Franciscan Companies.

Silver Fox Senior Social Club and its staff are “very pleased” with the new association with Embracing Age, Richard Elander, owner of Silver Fox Senior Social Club, said in the release.

“We believe the management and marketing capabilities of the Franciscan network will result in great opportunities for the growth of Silver Fox,” said Elander.

As part of the Franciscan and St. Joseph’s Health family, Silver Fox participants will have “increased” access to services such as home-health care, transportation, educational workshops, Lifeline Medical Alert, and a medication-dispensing service.

At the same time, existing Franciscan and St. Joseph’s Health patients can “benefit” from attending Silver Fox Senior Social Club, the organization contends.

Silver Fox Senior Social Club, located at 22 E. Genesee St. in Baldwinsville, is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It offers participants social and recreational activities, chef-prepared meals, personal-care services, and on-site physical therapy, the Franciscan Companies said.
