SYRACUSE — The nonprofit organization Enable has promoted Prudence York, its former director of community services, to executive director.
York has worked at Enable since 1986 and holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Syracuse University. In recent years, she has helped Enable, which provides services to Central New Yorkers with disabilities, start programs for young adults and children with autism.
“We highly value Prudence’s competency, experience, vision, and readiness to take on this challenging role,” Enable Board of Directors President Marvin Reed said in a news release. “She is just the person we need now to continue the passion and commitment that has built Enable’s enviable reputation.”
York takes over as executive director at Enable after Sara Wall-Bollinger left to become executive director for health planning at HealtheConnections. HealtheConnections provides health planning and regional health information organization (RHIO) services for 11 counties in Central New York.
