ENDICOTT, N.Y. — The Village of Endicott has been awarded a $286,725 state Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA) grant. The award was among $479 million in grants recently announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul to make critical water-infrastructure improvements around the state.

The grant was issued to Endicott as part of a requirement by the state to develop a flow-management plan for the village’s wastewater treatment plant. The plan will establish a schedule for the village and communities with flows contributing to the plant.

The $1.15 million project will rehabilitate defects identified in the plant. It is the second phase of the manhole and sewer-rehabilitation work and removal of municipally owned stormwater connections to sanitary sewers.

The project will help enable future growth within the village and neighboring communities, allowing the plant to serve more people, businesses, and industries.

“I really appreciate all that Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and Senator Leah Webb have done for the village,” Endicott Mayor Linda Jackson said. “I look forward to continue working with them for the future of Endicott.”
