SYRACUSE — Ephesus Technologies is set to unveil a new LED light aimed at use in stadiums this month.
The company, based in the Tech Garden in downtown Syracuse, will install the new lights at the Central New York Raceway Park in Central Square. Construction of the park, which will include a drag racing strip, a half mile dirt track, and a two-mile road course, is set to begin this spring.
The stadium lights, known as the Raydeon series, range in size from 800 to 2,500 watts, according to Ephesus. They use 70 percent less energy that traditional lights and can maintain a constant output for more than 20 years.
They can also be turned on and off instantly, unlike other bulbs that take 20 to 30 minutes to warm up, the company said.
The unveiling, set for 10 a.m. March 9 in the Center of Progress Building at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, is open to the public. The event will take place during the move in for the Gater Racing News Motorsports Show at the fairgrounds.
Ephesus plans to relocate from the Tech Garden to a to a 10,000-square-foot space in the Radisson section of the town of Lysander later this year. The company is developing a range of LED lighting fixtures along with a next-generation LED chip to power its own lights and others’.
