Eric Mower named board co-chair for Business Council of New York State

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Business Council of New York State announced it has appointed Eric Mower, chairman and CEO of Eric Mower + Associates (EMA), as co-chair of its board.

He will serve with fellow board co-chair Karen Boykin-Towns, VP of corporate affairs at pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc.

Mower and Boykin-Towns will replace Thomas Tranter, who is passing the gavel after two years of service as board chair, according to a Business Council news release distributed by EMA.

Mower and his firm have been active members of the Business Council for more than 30 years. He has served as a Business Council board member, vice chair, and has also helped the business organization in a variety of tasks ranging from member recruitment to program and event planning. Mower was also named 2016 Member of the Year at the Business Council’s annual meeting

 “Eric Mower’s contributions to the organization have been consistently above and beyond since the moment he first joined,” Heather C. Briccetti, president and CEO of the Business Council, said in the release.

Syracuse–based Eric Mower + Associates is a marketing and public relations agency employing 220 people. It has additional offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, and New York City, as well as Cincinnati, Charlotte, Boston, and Atlanta.
