ESD awards Le Moyne grant funding to help pay for renovation work

The board of directors of Empire State Development (ESD) has approved a grant of up to $2 million that Le Moyne College will use to help pay for the renovations that included the Madden School of Business.

ESD announced the grant award in a news release distributed on Tuesday.

The project included Le Moyne’s renovation of the school’s Mitchell Hall to house the Madden School of Business.

Le Moyne in July 2012 applied for funding through Round 2 of the regional economic-development council (REDC) initiative, ESD said.

The Central New York REDC awarded the school a $2 million grant in July 2013 to assist with the nearly $19 million project.

Altogether, the ESD board “recently” approved a total of more than $17 million in funding for 17 projects statewide, according to its news release.
