MAINE, N.Y. — Private charter jet company Evolution Jets is leasing a 28,000-square-foot hangar at Greater Binghamton Airport and expects to add 20 jobs locally.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced Evolution’s arrival at a press conference Monday.
“We are certainly excited to see this growing company choose Broome County to expand their operations” he said. “This is the type of business development that we have been anticipating and we expect that this is just the start.”
Evolution Owner and CEO Jamie Thomas said Binghamton is a good location for his business. “From this location, we can reach numerous large metropolitan markets very easily.”
Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, D–Endwell, co-chair of the state Legislative Aviation Caucus, said recent legislative changes have helped. “Most recently, we successfully enacted the Aviation Jobs Act helping New York remain competitive with all surrounding states. As a result, general aviation operations are beginning to thrive as more planes are being based at New York airports like ours.”
On its website, Evolution lists options for chartering or buying. On his LinkedIn page, Thomas described his work as, “developed and launched a new cutting edge aircraft management program with a focus in shared ownership and strategic aircraft partnerships.”
The page also lists him as president of Maximum Flight Advantages, an aircraft sales, charter, maintenance and management organization.
