Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare, CWA reach tentative contract agreement

UTICA, N.Y. — Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1126 on Thursday reached tentative agreements on five successor collective-bargaining contracts.

The current contracts expired on Friday, Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) said in a news release. The new, three-year contracts extend through June 2020.

MVHS didn’t release any financial terms of the contracts.

CWA currently represents about 1,700 bargaining unit employees at FSLH made up of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, technicians and service and maintenance employees, according to MVHS.

MVHS is an affiliation of Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC), both of Utica. The two organizations teamed up in March 2014.
