WHITESBORO — First Choice Staffing announced it will expand and relocate its Utica–area office to Colonial Plaza in Whitesboro from its current location in New Hartford, effective June 2.

To celebrate the new location, at 131 Oriskany Blvd., a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce will be held at 11 a.m. that day. It’s open to the public.

“Our business is growing and changing with technology; this is being accentuated by the revitalization of the economy in our area. This new location will give us much needed space for our expanding staff and services and puts us into a more central location with quicker access for our customers and employees. It will also give our employees more convenient access to other service businesses in the area that complement ours,” Lynn Loomis, vice president at First Choice Staffing, said in a news release.  “We have included space in our new offices for our clients use that will allow them to interview and test applicants with privacy for sensitive positions, or if their own office doesn’t have an area that is suitable for this purpose. Many of our clients have requested this and now we have a space specifically for their use.”

First Choice Staffing, which also has an office in Clay, says it supports the staffing and human-resources needs of hundreds of local, regional, and national businesses. First Choice Staffing is certified as a New York state minority woman-owned business enterprise. The current second-generation owners are Loomis and Michelle Washburn, company president.

In 2013, the firm placed more than 2,200 employees for its staffing clients. First Choice itself has more than 15 employees, according to CNYBJ Research.

First Choice says it specializes in staffing for light industrial, clerical, administrative, technical and professional positions. Services include recruiting, payroll services, drug testing, physical, and background screening.
