ROCHESTER — First Niagara Financial Group, Inc. has promoted Craig Burton to senior vice president of commercial real-estate lending.
Burton is the team leader for the banking company’s Central New York commercial real-estate team, according to a First Niagara news release. He is responsible for originating construction and permanent financing on a variety of commercial real-estate property types covering the Rochester and Central New York areas.
Burton began his banking career in 1983 after graduating from the State University College at Brockport. Prior to joining First Niagara in 2007, he worked as a senior vice president and client manager for Bank of America, where he coordinated transactions for major real-estate firms and developers throughout upstate New York and Ontario, Canada, First Niagara said.
First Niagara, through its wholly owned subsidiary, First Niagara Bank, N.A., is a multi-state community-oriented bank with 411 branches, $38 billion in assets, $28 billion in deposits, and about 5,800 employees across New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
