BINGHAMTON — DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Binghamton, formerly known as the Riverwalk Hotel and Conference Center.
The opening and the new hotel branding follow “significant damage” from Tropical Storm Lee on the property in 2011, according to a news release from DoubleTree by Hilton.
The damage led to a two-year, multi-million dollar renovation that transformed the property into an “upscale,” full-service hotel. The Rye, N.Y.–based Alfred Weissman Real Estate, Inc. owns the hotel, and the Newport Hospitality Group, headquartered in Williamsburg, Va., operates it, according to DoubleTree by Hilton.
