SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Food Bank of Central New York has named Karen Belcher its new executive director.
Belcher has been serving as the organization’s interim executive director for the past nine months, per a Food Bank news release. Kathleen Stress was the Food Bank’s previous executive director, before leaving early this year to become executive director of the Onondaga Community College Foundation.
Belcher began her career at the Food Bank in 2001 as the controller, overseeing finance, information technology, and human-resources functions. During her 19-year career at the Food Bank, Belcher worked as the director of finance and COO, before becoming interim executive director.
As executive director, Belcher will have oversight and management of all Food Bank activities including warehousing, distribution, agency relations, food sourcing, nutrition, outreach, technology, and development.
