SYRACUSE — Mimi Griswold, vice president of programming at Galaxy Communications, will retire at the end of this year.
Griswold has been with Galaxy since 1992 when she began programming WKLL in the Utica-Rome market. She oversaw programming of WTKW (TK99) and WKRL (K-Rock) when Galaxy expanded into Syracuse in 1993.
She has been in her current position since 1998. Griswold will continue to host Blue Moon Café, a Sunday morning program, for Galaxy.
“These stations have been my passion for the 20 years,” Griswold said in a news release. “And I have loved every minute of it. But in the last 12 months, I have had to deal with a major health scare and my son had a serious accident. Thankfully, we are both doing well now, but those two events made me realize nothing is forever. This seems like the right time to slow down a bit.”
