GENEVIEVE HALPENNY, associate, has joined Barclay Damon’s intellectual property litigation and patents & prosecution practice areas. Her primary office is in Syracuse. Halpenny, who holds a Ph.D. in chemistry in addition to her juris doctorate, advises clients seeking or leveraging patents, providing actionable business and legal advice based on patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement analyses. She works with clients to protect their patent, trademark, and trade-secret rights in matters before federal courts, state courts, and the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Halpenny also has experience advising on protecting and monetizing client technologies in licensing agreements and contracts, as well as in conducting trademark-availability searches and registering trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
