GPO Federal Credit Union in Utica robbed, police seek man in Yankees cap

UTICA, N.Y. — Utica Police are seeking a bearded white male who was wearing a Yankees baseball cap in connection with the robbery of the GPO Federal Credit Union Monday.

According to police, around 5 p.m. at the credit union branch at 2711 Genesee St., a man entered and handed a teller a note, and demanded money.

“He was given a sum of money and left the bank, fleeing south on foot,” police said in a news release.

Police shared several surveillance photos of a man in a dark coat, dark glasses, and a Yankees cap and said they wanted to speak with him. “At this time the male is not a suspect, only an individual we would like to speak to relative to the investigation.”

Police asked that anyone who recognizes the male, or has any information about the robbery, call investigator Ryan Kelly at (315) 223-3512 or the Utica Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 735-3301.
