Broome-Tioga Workforce New York, the Broome County Urban League, and BCC co-sponsor the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program. Empire State Development funds the program through the city of Binghamton, according to BCC.

The program is designed to assist women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and dislocated workers in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Tioga Counties.

The 12-week, 60-hour program leads participants through the step-by-step process of developing a “solid” business plan, according to BCC.

Besides the training, the program also provides participants one-on-one counseling to deal with their individual issues.

The program aims to have participants complete a written business plan and start a small business.

BCC is offering the program on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning on Sept. 10. It continues through Dec. 12, the school said.

To be considered for the scholarships, those interested need to fill out an application by this Tuesday. For more information, contact Darlene Kanuk at (607) 778-5071.
