JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Project Homecoming Job Fair on Dec. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oakdale Commons mall, 601-635 Harry L Dr. in Johnson City.
The fair targets job seekers from the Greater Binghamton area, college students home during break, and people visiting families over the holidays. It’s an opportunity to educate people about job opportunities in the region and encourage them to return to the area.
The chamber will also offer a “profile packet” for all job seekers highlighting companies hiring 16- to 18-year-olds to encourage high-school juniors and seniors to attend.
Representatives from Broome Tioga Workforce and the state Department of Labor will be on hand to answer questions.
Nearly 40 companies are currently registered for the event, representing industries including health care, high tech, finance, education, and manufacturing.
The fair is free and open to all job seekers. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their résumé. The chamber will scan each résumé collected at the job fair and create an online database that participating companies can access after the event.

The cost for a center court location is $400 for chamber members and $550 for non-members while the cost for other booths is $275 for members and $275 for non-members. The cost for nonprofit organizations is $250.
Businesses and organizations that have registered for the event so far, as of Dec. 19, include: Lourdes Hospital; McIntosh Laboratory, Inc.; Mirabito Energy Products; Tioga Downs Casino; Visions Federal Credit Union; Wegmans Food Markets, Inc.; Willow Run Foods, Inc.; and YMCA of Broome County.
