Greater Binghamton CVB rebrands with new logo, website, message

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The Greater Binghamton Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has launched a new brand, inviting visitors to the Southern Tier to “Be Part of Our Story.”

The effort includes a new logo, redesigned website, and “will soon feature actual stories that represent key establishments throughout the county,” the CVB said in announcing the new brand.

The intention of the “community branding is to unify” the entire region, including all tourism partners, “under a central message that tells visitors and prospective tourists what makes Broome County a worthy destination for recreation and exploration,” the CVB said in a news release.

The new logo integrates a contemporary “Bing” label to represent the communities of Greater Binghamton in a “positive, colorful way,” the CVB contends.

The “Bing” nickname also ties into the CVB’s BingThings initiative that includes a mobile-friendly guide to the community.

The CVB said it worked with Syracuse–based ABC Creative Group to identify Broome County’s “strongest” assets and create a strategy “that communicates them.”

Research drew on the insight and opinions of business, nonprofit, government, and community leaders as well as the public, which was polled with a survey, per the release.

In addition to discovery sessions and interviews, “branding experts used competitive and behavioral analysis to identify key selling points and prime markets for attracting travelers,” the organization added.
