Greater Utica Chamber accepting nominations for 2021 Business of the Year Awards

UTICA, N.Y. — The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce says it’s accepting nominations for its annual Business of the Year Awards.

The awards honor companies/organizations for staying power, commitment to the Mohawk Valley region, and Greater Utica Chamber involvement, per a Tuesday news release.

Anyone may nominate a business or organization, although only chamber members are eligible for consideration. A full listing of members is available at greateruticachamber.org.

Members can be re-nominated after five years from having won the award.

Preliminary nomination forms must be received no later than Sept. 30.

After receiving the preliminary nomination form, the Greater Utica Chamber will provide nominated companies/organizations with a comprehensive nomination form. Nominated companies/organizations are required to complete and return the comprehensive nomination form. The organization will choose winners based on the answers provided.

The businesses or organizations of current members of the chamber’s board of directors are not eligible for nomination.

The Greater Utica Chamber will present awards to one company/organization in each of the five categories at a luncheon ceremony set for Dec. 9 at Twin Ponds.

The categories include:

  • For-Profit Business with 50 or fewer employees
  • For-Profit Business with more than 50 employees
  • Not-for-Profit Organization with 50 or fewer employees
  • Not-for-Profit Organization with more than 50 employees
  • Catalyst Rising Business Award
