Greater Utica Chamber announces 2015 Business of the Year finalists

UTICA, N.Y. — The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce announced it has selected the 12 finalists for its 2015 “Business of the Year Awards.”

Dr. Todd Hutton, president of Utica College, will be the keynote speaker for the event, which is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club in New York Mills, according to a chamber news release. Networking and beverage tasting begins at 11 a.m.

Awards will be presented to winners in four separate categories. The categories include: Business with more than 50 employees, Business with 50 employees or fewer, Not-for-profit with more than 50 employees, and Not-for-profit with 50 employees or fewer. Finalists were evaluated and selected based on the following criteria: 1) staying power, 2) commitment to the Mohawk Valley region, and 3) involvement in the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce.

·         Fortus Healthcare Resources

·         Sturges Manufacturing Co., Inc.

Not-for-profit with over 50 employees

·         Catholic Charities of Oneida & Madison Counties

·         Central Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired

·         Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County

Business with 50 employees or fewer

·         Avalon Document Services

·         Covey Computer Software

·         The Paige Group

Not-for-profit with 50 employees or fewer

·         Abraham House

·         The Utica Zoo

·         YWCA Mohawk Valley
