Greater Utica Chamber to move Community Business Expo to MVCC venue this fall

UTICA, N.Y. — The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce is moving its Community Business Expo to Mohawk Valley Community College’s (MVCC) Jorgensen Center this September.

The event is set for Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the chamber said in a news release. The Jorgensen Center is located at 1101 Sherman Dr. in Utica.

The Greater Utica Chamber had previously held the Community Business Expo at the Utica Memorial Auditorium the past two years.

The event will feature the “wealth of business, nonprofit activity and entrepreneurship we are seeing in our area,” the chamber said. The Expo, which Poland, N.Y.–based Kessler Promotions produces, is open to the public.

Chamber members, “not-yet”-members, nonprofits, and restaurants can participate, the organization said.

Hosting the Community Business Expo in a new venue this year provides the chamber more space flexibility for its vendors and attendees, its leader says.

“As the Expo expands and gains popularity, the MVCC Jorgensen Center will also allow all of our vendor booths to be located on one floor and in the same room, providing easy access for attendees,” Meghan Fraser McGrogan, executive director of the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce, said in the release. “In addition, by hosting the Expo at MVCC we are hoping this will encourage our local college students and faculty to participate, which will help educate them about our business community and potential jobs.”
