Greater Watertown Chamber names Philip Reed president

WATERTOWN, N.Y. — The Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce (GWNC) has named Philip Reed, Sr. as its new president, effective Aug. 1.

Reed is currently executive director of the Northern New York Builders Exchange Inc., GWNC said in a news release issued July 2.

He is also a member of the Jefferson County Legislature, GWNC said in response to a CNYBJ inquiry.

The GWNC Chamber believes Reed’s “vast experiences” in the business community and his “long-term vision match very well with the Chamber’s mission and vision for long term success,” according to its release.

“Phil is very excited to join the current Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce staff to continue [its] vision of promoting business within our community,” Mark Gaines, president of the GWNC board of directors, said.

Kylie Peck, GWNC’s outreach and development director, is serving as interim president until Reed assumes his new role. GWNC announced Peck’s interim role in a June 2 news release.

Gaines also thanked Lynn Pietroski for her work in the same role over the past four years.

Pietroski is the new COO of the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center (JRC).

She was scheduled to begin her new duties as of Monday, according to a May 21 news release posted on the JRC website.

The Jefferson Rehabilitation Center is a chapter of NYSARC, Inc., a statewide advocacy organization for people with disabilities.
