VIRGIL — Greek Peak Mountain Resort on Wednesday announced it will host its inaugural “PeakFest” music festival on July 18 and 19.

The festival will feature musical acts, a VIP party, family-resort activities, a 5K run, craft exhibits, and regional food and beverages, Greek Peak said in a news release.

Dave Mason’s “Traffic Jam” is the headlining music act, according to the resort’s website.

The scheduled performers also include 1970s country-rock bands “Firefall” and “Pure Prairie League,” Greek Peak said.

The “Todd Hobin Band,” a well-known local musical act, will perform at 12 p.m. on July 19 as part of its 40th anniversary tour.

Hobin is a Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMY) Hall of Fame musician.

In addition, Central New York’s Rock of Ages Horns will join “Professor Louie and the Cromatix” on stage to perform the music of “The Band.”

Professor Louie and the Cromatix is based in Woodstock, N.Y., according to Greek Peak.

Musician Joe Whiting and his band will perform at a VIP Event, a “kick-off party,” scheduled for the evening of Friday, July 18.

VIP ticket holders can partake of food, beverages, and music from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the new Trax Pub & Grill located at the base of the mountain, according to Greek Peak.

The schedule also includes a 5K run and walk at Greek Peak at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19.

The festival seeks to highlight the year-round activities available at Greek Peak Mountain Resort, including Hope Lake Lodge, local craft beers, New York wines, indoor water park, outdoor ropes courses, zip lines, mountain coaster, and a spa, organizers say.

The festival will include music and exhibits between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. on July 19, Greek Peak said.
