Harris Beach partner Schneiderman joins MedTech board

ITHACA —  Anne Schneiderman, Ph.D., recently joined the board of directors of MedTech, an upstate New York association of pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology companies.

Schneiderman is a partner of the law firm of Harris Beach, PLLC, where she is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. She is based at the firm’s Ithaca office.

“Anne’s unique background in both the law and the life sciences brings a valuable perspective and asset to MedTech’s Board of Directors,” Jessica Crawford, president of Syracuse–based MedTech, said in a news release. “Her determination to highlight trends in patent law will help our members make the most out of their innovations.”

A biologist as well as a patent attorney, Schneiderman’s law practice focuses on domestic and foreign patent procurement, opinion work, and strategic planning. She has represented high-tech clients in the field of patent law dealing with biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, medical devices, environmental chemistry, and agriscience. Prior to practicing law, Schneiderman had a 20-year career as an academic researcher and professor. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University as well as a law degree from Stanford University.
