Head of DreamWorks Animation to visit SU

SYRACUSE — The CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG will be in Syracuse Oct. 17 as part of a forum at Syracuse University (SU).

Jeffrey Katzenberg, who also co-founded the studio, will take part in a public interview with USA Today technology reporter Mike Snider as part of the USA Today CEO Forum. The event will take place at 4 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium at SU’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

DreamWorks Animation has released 24 films including “Shrek,” “Kung Fu Panda,” and “Madagascar.”

DreamWorks Animation was a division of DreamWorks SKG until October 2004, when it became a publicly traded company, according to SU. Katzenberg co-founded DreamWorks SKG with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen in October 1994.

DreamWorks produced films including “American Beauty,” “Gladiator,” and “A Beautiful Mind.” Katzenberg was chairman of the Walt Disney Studios before co-founding DreamWorks and also previously served as president of Paramount Studios.
