CARTHAGE AREA HOSPITAL
MELISSA BEAGLE has joined Carthage Area Hospital’s Carthage Behavioral Health team as a general therapist. Before she joined Carthage Behavioral Health, she worked as a senior operations manager for Transitional Living Services in Watertown, from 2016 until last month. From 2003 to 2016, she worked at the Children’s Home of Jefferson County, Watertown, where she was a case manager from 2003 to 2008 and the Jefferson County SPOA/SPOE Coordinator from 2008 to 2016. Beagle is a 1992 graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 2017, she completed the Greater Rochester Collaborative Master of Social Work Program, a program in collaboration between the College at Brockport and Nazareth College.

Community Wellness Partners has promoted two of its senior management officials. MICHELLE SYNAKOWSKI has been promoted to VP of health services. She began her career at Community Wellness Partners in July 2017. Synakowski previously held the position of director of quality systems and corporate compliance. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health services management from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and holds licenses for nursing home administrator and registered nurse, as well as certifications for geriatric scholar, resident assessment coordinator, nurse executive and master teacher.
ROXANNE COTTER has been promoted to chief financial officer. She joined LutheranCare in October 1997, and most recently held the position of controller for the LutheranCare Charitable Network. Cotter earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
HCR HOME CARE
HCR Home Care has added three new employees to its Onondaga County operations: IDA HARPER, home health aide; GERARD PAULES, RN, case manager; and LORI WINDERL, clinical field staff supervisor. HCR Home Care has also added LAURA KIRKPATRICK, physical therapist and DEVON TUCKER, occupational therapist to its Onondaga County Operations.
MOHAWK VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM
ANGELICA PASCONE has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Sleep Disorders Center as a physician assistant. Pascone previously worked as a physician assistant at the MVHS Washington Mills Medical office. She earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Le Moyne College, a master’s degree in liberal studies, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Utica College. Pascone is a certified physician assistant.
CHELSEA HAMMONT has joined the MVHS Breast Care Center at the Faxton Campus and has privileges at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. Hammont was previously employed as a physician assistant in cardiology at Bassett Medical Center Heart Care Institute in Cooperstown. She earned her associate degree from SUNY Delhi and her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. Hammont received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the West Liberty University College of Health Sciences in West Liberty, West Virginia.
JOHN M. FORBES has been named VP of philanthropy for the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). Prior to joining MVHS, he was most recently a major gift officer for Hamilton College in Clinton. Forbes earned his bachelor’s degree in government, with a minor in theater, from Hamilton College.
CAITLIN MCCANN has been named marketing and communications manager for MVHS. Prior to her role as manager, McCann was a communications specialist for MVHS. Before joining MVHS, McCann was general manager for her family business, Piggy Pats BBQ in Washington Mills, and she worked as a content media coordinator at CreateSpace in North Charleston, South Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and management, with a minor in economics, from Siena College in Loudonville.
HOLLY BURLINE has been named nurse navigator for the MVHS Breast Care Center located at the Faxton Campus. She has been an employee of Faxton St. Luke’s since 2001 and worked as a staff RN in telemetry and pediatrics. Burline most recently served as a case manager at the St. Luke’s Campus. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Utica College.
JOSEPH’S HEALTH
EUGENE PALCHIK, M.D. has joined the St. Joseph’s Health’s vascular surgery team. A graduate of the doctor of medicine program at New York University’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine, he completed his residency in general surgery at University of Rochester. Palchik received specialized training in vascular surgery during his two-year fellowship in vascular surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and as a clinical research fellow in vascular surgery at his alma mater. Before joining St. Joseph’s Health, Palchik provided vascular surgery coverage for a network of four hospitals as a vascular surgeon with Vascular & Endovascular Associates of New Jersey in Paramus. At Landmark Medical Center, he served as medical director of the Wound Care Center in addition to his surgical duties.
