CHILDREN’S HOME OF JEFFERSON COUNTY
MICHELLE L. MONNAT, the Children’s Home of Jefferson County’s (CHJC) director of systems administration, has been elected to serve on the Family Focused Treatment Association (FFTA) board of directors. FFTA represents more than 450 member agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada. Monnat began her career at the Children’s Home in May 2008. She currently oversees all CHJC residential programs including residential treatment, therapeutic crisis respite, and non-secure detention. She also oversees chjc’s information technology and quality improvement/quality assurance departments, and serves as an agency grant writer. She received both a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from St. Lawrence University, and is a certified health information technology implementation manager. Monnat was honored in 2015 as a New York State Coalition for Children’s Mental Health Services “Employee of the Year.”
MOHAWK VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM
LESA STEELE has been named nurse manager for maternal child services at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). In this position, she will oversee the Maternity Department, Well Baby Nursery, Level II Labor, Special Care Nursery, Pediatrics, and the Obstetrical (OB) Care Center. Steele earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Utica College and an associate degree in nursing from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. She joined Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) in 2004, serving in maternal child services in various positions, most recently as assistant nurse manager from 2013 to 2016. In 2015, Steele transferred to peri-operative nurse manager at MVHS. Prior to her current position, she worked at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown as operating room nurse manager. Steele has also worked in maternal child services at Little Falls Hospital and in the operating room at the MVHS St. Elizabeth Campus in Utica.
VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES
ERIC KENNEDY has joined the staff at Valley Health Services as the assistant director of food service. He received a certificate from BOCES in food service. Having served in a food-service role for most of his life, Kennedy’s professional career experience includes serving as a cook in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, as well as working with organizations such as Orchard Hall and Loretto Nursing Home.
