BANKERS HEALTHCARE GROUP

Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG) has hired RUSSELL HARLESTON, JR. as a wellness coordinator. He is responsible for coordinating daily fitness classes, health fairs, team-building boot camps, nutrition classes, and providing nutrition guidance for BHG associates. Harleston is a certified strength coach, trainer, and sports and exercise nutritionist who has been working in the fitness industry for almost 10 years. 

CENTRAL NEW YORK CARDIOLOGY, PC

MICHAEL K. AMPONSAH, M.D. has joined Central New York Cardiology, PC with privileges at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He specializes in cardiology and interventional cardiology, as well as peripheral vascular intervention and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (or TAVR). Amponsah earned his medical degree from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, where he then received further training in structural heart, coronary and peripheral vascular interventions. Amponsah is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. 

MOHAWK VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM

CATHY OLAH has been named director of respiratory care at the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). In this position, she is overseeing respiratory services for the system, including the Sleep Disorders Center. Olah has been with the organization since 1989, serving as a respiratory therapist, consult therapist, and day charge therapist. Since 2015 she has served as the assistant manager of respiratory therapy at the St. Elizabeth campus. Olah earned her associate degree in respiratory care from Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) in Utica and her bachelor’s degree in respiratory care from Boise State University in Idaho. She is a 2015 Aspiring Leaders program graduate and is currently enrolled in Quality Academy, pursuing a master’s degree in health administration at Southern New Hampshire University.

ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTH

The St. Joseph’s Health cardiac team has added three cardiac surgeons DR. CHARLES LUTZ, DR. ZHANDONG ZHOU, and DR. AHMAD NAZEM are joining Dr. Mehdi Marvasti as the cardiac surgeons of St. Joseph’s Physicians.
