ACR Health has promoted two veteran managers to top leadership posts. CARRIE PORTZLINE-LARGE has been appointed deputy executive director of operations and JEANETTE O’CONNOR-SHANLEY has been named deputy executive director of programs.
O’Connor-Shanley has more than 20 years experience in the not-for-profit sector.
Before ACR Health, she served as program director for REACH CNY Inc., where she was lead trainer on more than 30 curricula from various NYS Department of Health training contracts.

Interventional spine specialist, DAVID MOORTHI, M.D., has joined St. Joseph’s Health’s St. Joseph’s Physicians Spine Care at Northeast Medical Center in Fayetteville. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in interventional spine diagnosis and treatment to St. Joseph’s. Moorthi earned his M.D. from the University of Madras, Stanley Medical College in Madras, India.
He completed a fellowship in anesthesiology pain management, and completed residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Moorthi comes to St. Joseph’s from Spine & Pain Care, LLC in Rochester.
JULIE EDMUNDS SMITH has been appointed director of finance at St. Joseph’s Health. She brings more than 13 years experience in the health-care and higher-education sectors to the position.
Most recently, Smith served as a senior manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Atlanta, Ga., where she managed the financial audits and reporting for several large health-care clients.
She is a graduate of Le Moyne College and received her MBA from the University of Phoenix.
ST. JOSEPH’S PHYSICIANS FAMILY MEDICINE
LYNNE DIGENNARO, M.D, a family physician, has joined St. Joseph’s Health’s St. Joseph’s Physicians Family Medicine – The Heritage Group, at its Northeast Medical Center. She earned her doctorate of medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University, and completed her residency in family practice at St. Joseph’s Family Medicine.
Prior to joining St. Joseph’s Physicians, DiGennaro was a practicing family physician at Tri-Valley Family Practice in Vernon.
She is board-certified in family medicine.
UPSTATE MEDICAL FOUNDATION
Upstate Medical Foundation has appointed JOHN P. GLEASON its first director for legacy giving. He is charged with developing a planned-gift program for Upstate Medical University and its constituencies.
Gleason is a nationally and internationally certified fund-raising executive with more than 40 years of development experience and has worked on the planning and management of 11 major campaign efforts that raised a total of $500 million.
Gleason earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Niagara University, a master’s degree in economics from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School, and a diploma in institutional advancement from the CASE Institute held at Dartmouth College.
