MOHAWK VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM
ROZA KARABANOV, a family nurse practitioner, has joined the MVHS Little Falls Medical Office and has admitting privileges at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Karabanov has worked as a staff nurse with MVHS at the St. Luke’s Campus in Utica since 2008, provided training to new graduate nurses, and served as a preceptor for Utica College nursing students. Before MVHS, she worked as a caregiver at the Resource Center for Independent Living in Herkimer. Karabanov received her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica. She completed her associate degree in nursing at St. Elizabeth College of Nursing in Utica.

ROME MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
ASHLEY EDWARDS, a registered nurse atRome Memorial Hospital, has been appointed as the new nurse manager of the hospital’s emergency department and intensive care unit (ICU). Edwards is in charge of the daily flow of the emergency department and ICU, handling staffing and serving as an advocate and problem solver for staff issues. She also is available to help with concerns that may arise from patients and their families. In general, she is responsible for keeping the potentially chaotic emergency department environment running as smoothly as possible. Initially hired as a graduate nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Rome Memorial Hospital in 2012, Edwards transferred to the Emergency Department in 2014. After graduating from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing with her associate degree in applied science in nursing, Edwards earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from SUNY Poly in Marcy.

ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTH
PAUL HANNA has joined St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute’s Oneida campus. Hanna is a medical cardiologist. In this position, he will diagnose and treat heart-specific conditions. Hanna earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in Valhalla. and completed his residency in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center (Bellevue Hospital). Following residency, Hanna completed a fellowship in cardiology at Penn State University College of Medicine. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s Health, Hanna worked at a Westchester Medical Center affiliate in Poughkeepsie as a cardiologist.
