RIYA SUSAN CHACKO, M.D., board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology, has joined Crouse Medical Practice Cardiology. She earned her medical degree from the Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Chacko completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where she also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases and a second fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging.
ROME MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
KIMBERLY DAVIS has been appointed the new nurse manager of the Maternity Department at Rome Memorial Hospital.
She began her career at the hospital in 2003 as a nurse’s aide in the maternity department and continued to work in maternity while earning her degree in nursing from SUNY Morrisville.
For the past two years, Davis has been working as in the emergency department of the hospital.
ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTH
JOEL E. MOSES, M.D. has joined St. Joseph’s Health as a specialist in infectious disease. He received his doctor of medicine from Albany Medical College. Following his residency at North Shore University Hospital of Cornell University Medical College in Manhasset, Moses completed a fellowship in the Division of Infectious Diseases.
Most recently, he was in private practice providing services to both Samaritan Hospital and Seton Hospital in Troy, New York. Additionally, Moses supervised hyperbaric oxygen therapy dives and provided wound care treatment at Albany Memorial Hospital Wound Care Center in Albany. St. Joseph’s Health has named
NEIL ANDERSEN director & information security officer. This position oversees the information security program at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, St. Joseph’s Physician PC, and the Franciscan Companies. Andersen has more than 30 years experience in information technology. He comes from Trinity Health and most recently served as the regional information security officer for Sisters of Providence Health System, now a part of Trinity Health – New England. Andersen earned a master’s degree in computer information systems with a concentration on cyber security at Boston University in addition to his bachelor’s degree in information technology.
KEVIN P. CUNNINGHAM, M.D. and SAMUEL SALEEB, M.D. have joined St. Joseph’s Health’s St. Joseph’s Primary Care Center-West and the Maternal Child Health Center as specialists in obstetrics and gynecology. Cunningham holds a doctorate in medicine from University at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at SUNY Buffalo affiliated hospitals. Early in his career, he was a staff OB/GYN in the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell, where he was promoted to the rank of major. Following his military service he provided care to rural and underserved areas throughout New York and in 1992 was a founding partner in a group practice in Corning. Cunningham has more than 27 years’ clinical experience.
Saleeb is an internationally trained OB/GYN physician specializing in urogynecology and minimally invasive surgery. He received his doctorate in medicine from Assiut Medical School in Egypt, followed by a postgraduate diploma from Zagazig University. Saleeb has completed a clinical preceptorship in the Urogynecology Department at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. A member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, he completed programs in obstetrics and gynecology and laparoscopic surgery at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. While in Dublin he completed both an OB/GYN residency at National Maternity Hospital and special training in urogynecology. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s, Saleeb was the medical director of Saleeb Gynecology and Urogynecology Center in Buffalo for 12 years. During this time, he was also the medical director of the outpatient OB/GYN clinic at Kenmore Mercy Hospital and a clinical assistant professor at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine, Buffalo.
ZAKI BADAWY, M.D.; DEEP BHARAJ, M.D.; JEFFREY HUGHES, M.D.; NEIL SHAH, M.D.; and ASIM SIDDIQI, M.D.have joined St. Joseph’s Health as hospitalists. Badawy is a graduate of Syracuse University and earned his doctorate in medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Domenica, West Indies. He completed his residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in 2015, following completion of his residency in nuclear medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Bharaj earned her doctorate in medicine from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Netherlands-Antilles and completed her residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica. Since 2012 she has served in the role of researcher for the study “Trust in the Physician and Perception of the Quality of Care.” Hughes earned his doctorate from University at Buffalo School of Medicine in 2001 and completed his residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Health. Immediately following residency, Hughes opened Village Family Care in Baldwinsville, where he served as attending physician until joining St. Joseph’s. Shah received his doctorate from American University of Antigua and completed his residency in family medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica. Siddiqi earned his doctorate from St. Matthew’s University, Grand Cayman Islands and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rutgers University. He completed his residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica. Most recently, Siddiqi completed his residency with an emphasis in acute inpatient care.
KEVIN THOMAS, M.D. has joined St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse as a neurohospitalist who will care for hospitalized patients, with, or at risk for, neurological disorders and disease. He earned his doctorate in medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana where he also completed a residency in neurology. He has been in private practice as a neurologist and affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital Heath Center since 1986.
