Health Foundation board re-elects Upstate Medical’s Wolff as chairman

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York has re-elected Dr. L. Thomas Wolff as chairman of its board of trustees.

Wolff is medical director of the physician-assistant program and SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus in the department of family medicine at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, according to a news release that the Health Foundation issued Thursday.

The board also added two members, including David Felton, president of the board of directors and CEO of Crouse Community Center Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Facility in Morrisville. Felton was previously president and CEO of Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.

Besides Felton, the board of trustees also elected Carrie Frank as a board member. Frank recently retired from the position of vice president of quality and health informatics for Rochester–based Excellus BlueCross BlueShield (Excellus BCBS).

Excellus BCBS is the largest health insurer in Central New York.

She previously was the executive vice president and COO for Kaleida Health, and was COO and CFO at Buffalo General Hospital, the Health Foundation said.

The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York is an independent, private foundation that seeks to improve health and health care across Western and Central New York, with a special focus on young children, vulnerable older adults, and the systems serving them, according to the news release.
