The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York is accepting applications for a Health Leadership Fellows program slated to start in September 2013.
The foundation will run the program over 18 months. It is targeting professionals with decision-making powers at health-related and safety-net organizations serving frail elders and children living in poverty in Western New York and Central New York. Planned sessions include topics of personal leadership, leading change, communicating as a leader, and collaboration.
Fellows will meet monthly and work on projects in small teams. They will also attend about five retreats, each lasting two or three days. And they will receive executive coaching.
“We are excited to bring people from all facets of the health-care industry in our community together to work towards a common goal of delivering the highest-quality health care to the people in Western and Central New York,” foundation President Ann Monroe said in a news release. “By bringing together these health-care professionals, we hope to find new and innovative ways to stimulate change and improve health outcomes.”
The foundation is set to hold an information session on the fellowships on Dec. 3 in Syracuse. The session will run from noon to 1 p.m. at the foundation’s Syracuse office at 431 E. Fayette St.
The 2013 Health Leadership Fellows program will be the fourth operated by the foundation. Applications must be received by Jan. 15.
