Heinrich ends retirement to lead Rome Memorial’s residential health-care facility

ROME — Rome Memorial Hospital announced it has named Keith Heinrich the new administrator at its residential health-care facility (RHCF).

Heinrich started his duties Nov. 18, and in accepting the position, he ended his retirement, Rome Memorial said in a news release.

He previously served as associate executive director of the Masonic Care Community in Utica from 1986 until his retirement in 2009.

Prior to that, Heinrich also served as director of human resources for the Masonic organization and worked in human resources for St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.

Once he retired, Heinrich started missing the daily “challenges and joys” of working in a residential-care setting and the relationships with the residents he served, according to Rome Memorial.

“I looked at the website prior to applying for the job at Rome Memorial Hospital’s RHCF and I was impressed with what I saw,” Heinrich said in the hospital’s news release.  “The satisfaction survey results were quite good and that tells me that the staff is paying attention to quality measures of care for our residents.”

Heinrich, a licensed nursing-home administrator, has a bachelor’s degree in management from the University at Buffalo and a master’s degree in organizational behavior from Binghamton University, Rome Memorial said.

Rome Memorial Hospital’s RHCF is an 80-bed, skilled-nursing facility that is located on the hospital’s third floor. It provides long and short-term care, and sub-acute and respite-care programs, the hospital said.
