SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Helio Health has plans for renovation work at its building at 518 James St. in Syracuse and will use a grant award to help pay for it.
In a separate announcement, the organization also says it has opened a location in Rochester.
Grant award
The Bilford Family Fund of the Central New York Community Foundation awarded Helio Health a grant of $50,000 to help fund renovations to Helio Health’s building at 518 James St. in Syracuse.
“Helio Health is grateful for this award from the CNY Community Foundation. This award was used for the renovation of the reception area,” Kathleen Gaffney-Babb, President & CEO of Helio Health Inc, said in a Nov. 22 news release. “The reception area is the initial point of contact for our programs, and we designed it to reflect our core values of integrity, inclusivity, and that the people we serve come first.”
Helio Health is one of several organizations that received support, the organization noted.
Established in 1927, the Central New York Community Foundation receives contributions from donors, manages them to grow over time, and then distributes funding to address the region’s greatest needs.
Rochester clinic
Helio Health has opened a new outpatient clinic located at 150 Mt. Hope Ave. in Rochester.
The clinic will operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing treatment and more access to services for those seeking recovery support.
“I’m excited to announce the launch of our new Helio Heath Rochester Outpatient substance use services for the Finger Lakes Region,” Sabrina Howland, Helio Health’s regional VP of the Finger Lakes, said in a Nov. 21 release. “We are committed to community well-being and providing crucial support for those seeking a healthier, substance-free future.”
“Helio Health remains committed to providing person centered evidenced-based treatment in the Rochester region,” Gaffney-Babb added in the release. “We are honored to add to our existing continuum of care by providing outpatient services in addition to Inpatient medically supervised withdrawal and rehabilitation and ESSHI housing and case management.”
ESSHI is short for Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative.
Helio Health operates facilities in Syracuse, Rochester, Utica, Gloversville, and Binghamton.
