Herkimer County IDA plans March 26 brownfields meeting

HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency (IDA), along with environmental consultant HRP Associations, Inc., will share information on opportunities available for brownfield development in the county at a publicoutreach meeting at 6 p.m. on March 26 at the Herkimer College amphitheater, 100 Reservoir Road, Herkimer.

The program, open to the public, will include updates on various grants including the Environmental Protection Agency Assessment Grant, the Village of Herkimer New York State Brownfield Opportunity Area Grant (NYS BOA), City of Little Falls NYS BOA Grant, and the Herkimer County New York State Brownfield Assessment Grant.

These grants assist communities with developing area-wide, community-based plans to redevelop brownfields and other vacant and abandoned sites to turn them into properties that serve as catalysts for community investment and improvement.
