Hillside Children’s Foundation appoints new board member

Hillside Children’s Foundation, an affiliate of the Hillside Family of Agencies, today announced the appointment of Robert (Bob) Linn to its board of directors.

Hillside Children’s Foundation raises funds to support all of the service affiliates of Hillside Family of Agencies, the organization said in a news release.

Linn, a Manlius resident, is an accountant who has spent nearly 40 years with the Syracuse office of Ernst & Young, according to Hillside.

This appointment isn’t Linn’s first involvement with the Hillside organization.

He currently sits on the Syracuse advisory board of the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, another affiliate of the Hillside Family of Agencies.

Linn has served on that advisory board since 2008, Hillside said.

The nonprofit is “thrilled” to have Linn join another of its boards of directors, Thomas Hildebrandt, president of Hillside Children’s Foundation, said in the news release.

“Bob is deeply caring and incredibly passionate about helping youth and their families in Central New York and with his board involvement we look forward to furthering our commitment to this great community,” said Hildebrandt.

Besides his involvement with the Hillside Family of Agencies, Linn also serves on other local boards and committees.

He’s served on the board of directors for the Binghamton–based Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York since 2010, according to Hillside.

Linn is also the treasurer of Electronics Park LLC, a real estate and industrial-development subsidiary of CenterState CEO.

CenterState CEO, headquartered in Syracuse and serving a 12-county region, is the region’s major business and economic-development organization.

In addition, Linn also participates in the strategic partnership distribution committee of the Syracuse–based Central New York Community Foundation, Inc.

Founded in 1837 and headquartered in Rochester, the Hillside Family of Agencies is “one of the oldest and most complex family and youth nonprofit human-services organizations” in the U.S., according to its news release.

In Central New York, Hillside Family of Agencies affiliates include Hillside Children’s Center and Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection.

The organizations employ 350 people and serve more than 1,500 families annually with adoption, foster care, home and community-based services, residential treatment, and youth-development programs and services, the organization said.
