SYRACUSE — Hiscock & Barclay, LLP on Tuesday announced the opening of an office in Newark, N.J.

It is the law firm’s ninth office and supplements the firm’s existing presence at Rockefeller Center in New York City, Hiscock & Barclay said in a news release.

The firm has a “growing” number of attorneys licensed to practice in New Jersey, John Langan, the firm’s managing partner, said in the news release.

“This new office will allow us to serve local clients and assist us in better serving our national clients’ legal needs as they arise in the New York metropolitan/New Jersey area.  This expansion represents the continued execution on our strategy of expanding the firm’s presence in major markets such as Boston and New York,” Langan said.

Langan will manage the Newark office, the firm said.

Headquartered in Syracuse, Hiscock & Barclay also operates offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C. and Toronto.
