CLINTON, N.Y. — Hobby, toy, and game fans have a new option in Clinton with Friday’s formal opening of a HobbyTown franchise.
Located at 34 Chenango Ave., the HobbyTown store specializes in radio-control cars, boats, and planes; educational toys; models of all kinds; model railroads; slot cars; strategy and family games; and rockets. It also offers kites; microscopes; telescopes; unique gift items; and the paints, tools, and accessories needed for almost any hobby.
“We are thrilled to be opening a full-line hobby store in Clinton,” co-owner Kim Miller said in a release. “I grew up just north of the Clinton area, left to go to college and start a career, and now I’m returning home to the welcoming village of Clinton. It’s a dream come true.”
Grand-opening festivities included a ribbon cutting, gift cards and gift bags for the first 25 customers, and prize drawings.
The store is open six days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Plans are in the works to open an activity room soon that can host events for Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer 40K, Gundam Model build days, and board game nights.
Headquartered in Nebraska, HobbyTown has more than 150 franchise locations in the U.S., including a store in Syracuse.
