SYRACUSE, N.Y. — An executive at Hewlett-Packard (HP) Company (NYSE: HPQ) will be the keynote speaker at the MedTech Association’s upcoming 3rd annual Connected Care Exchange Conference (CCX).
The 2016 CCX Conference is scheduled for Nov. 3 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Central New York Biotech Accelerator at 841 East Fayette St. in Syracuse.
Dr. Ali Tinazli is the global head of health-care and life-sciences strategy at HP’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California.

MedTech’s 3rd annual CCX Conference focuses on today’s wireless health-care environment, the organization said in a news release.
As the industry transitions to accountable care, connected care offers “tremendous opportunities” to help “meet the need” to contain cost inflation, improve clinical efficiencies, and meet the demands of demographic trends, MedTech contends.
The half-day program will feature two panels on “pressing” digital-health topics, including the future of medical technology and clinical-care applications.
Tinazli’s keynote presentation, “Blended Reality for Life,” will discuss the convergence of microfluidics, commercial mobility, and compute technologies for new applications in health care.
He will also provide an inside look at HP’s innovation strategy, focusing on a new microfluidic, diagnostic prototype that looks to address the health-care industry “on a global level.”
The organization is “thrilled” to bring Dr. Tinazli to Syracuse, Jessica Crawford, president of MedTech Association, said in the release.
“Biomedical, digital and electronic devices, health services and software and Internet services have been classified as key [Central New York] industry concentrations. Regional companies, such as Welch Allyn, are also leveraging the convergence of medical technology and digital health through connected health to improve health outcomes. This conference is the perfect opportunity to showcase the talent in the greater Syracuse region and connect our region’s leaders with HP, a leading company in the digital-health industry,” said Crawford.
Syracuse–based MedTech Association is a membership-based trade association for the bioscience and medical technology (bio/med) industry in New York.
MedTech “connects” New York’s bio/med industry through collaboration, education, and advocacy. Its membership includes more than 100 pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical-technology companies; their suppliers and service providers; and research universities.

Tinazli has a “deep” background in the science and business of biomedicine and healthcare, MedTech said.
He has conducted “extensive” work in the field of molecular biology of aging and nanobiotechnology and has authored nearly 20 publications.
Tinazli currently sits on the advisory board of a bioinformatics/computer-processor company, and serves as a board member at various startup companies in the biomedical/digital health space, according to MedTech.
