SYRACUSE —The Human Services Leadership Council (HSLC), a membership organization comprised of the CEOs of human-services agencies in Central New York, announced it has appointed Loretta A. Zolkowski as its first executive director.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, Zolkowski was previously employed by POMCO Group and Carrier. She has not-for-profit experience as board member and chair for such diverse organizations as the YWCA, Junior Achievement, and the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation, according to a news release from the HSLC. Zolkowski also served on the strategic planning team for the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways and is a member of the YWCA National Academy of Women Achievers.

The HSLC says it is expanding its capacity to serve the community and building even better collaborations through the hiring of its first executive director. Goals include increased professional development, networking opportunities, resource development, and  capacity building for members, the organization said in the release.
